Center in New Britain CTThe Physical Therapist PT independently evaluates determines treatment strategies delivers andor delegates services that identify prevent remediate and rehabilitate acute or prolonged physical dysfunction or pain with emphasis on physical dysfunction This role encompasses evaluation skills and techniques analysis of patients and therapeutic application of physical and chemical agents exercise and other procedures to maximize the patients functional independence Evaluation involves strength motor control joint mobility soft tissue integrity pain balance coordination posture cardiopulmonary function endurance gait and functional abilities in activities of daily living Reporting structure is dependent upon the site in which the staff member is assigned This role will float to all Physical Medicine office locations on an as needed basisLymphedema specific responsibilities includeEvaluate patient with lymphedema and create Plan of Care Demonstrate competence in manual lymph drainage multi layer bandaging compression garment selection and applicationProvide patient andor caregiver training for home program including MLD bandaging as needed application of compression garments and skin careProvide appropriate and safe exercise plan for patient with lymphedema with modifications to functional abilityBenefitsAs one of the largest rehabilitation providers
