The physical therapist will assume autonomous responsibility for evaluating patient’s need for physical therapy. This will include the creation of treatment plans and the execution of those individual patient-based treatment programs in accordance with the State of Michigan Public Health Code Act 368 of 1978. The physical therapist will work cooperatively with other rehabilitation professionals including physical therapy assistants, rehabilitation technicians/aids, and athletic trainers in addition to the patient’s medical team to maintain standards of professional physical therapy practice and interdisciplinary teamwork.
The physical therapist is responsible for the maintenance of their national certification, state licensure, and the necessary requirements for continuing education. The physical therapist is responsible to the service area manager and/or the designated site leader.
What the Physical Therapist will need:
Must be a graduate of a Doctorate’s or previously equivalent professional Physical Therapy training program accredited by the American Physical Therapy Association.Required: Bachelor’s in Physical TherapyFSBPT Certification.State of Michigan Physical Therapist License or eligible to obtain licensure prior to hire date.American Heart Association BLS or equivalentWhat the Physical Therapist will do:
Physical Therapists will practice in accordance with the state practice act to provide physical therapy services including the evaluation, planning, and implementation of rehabilitation plans of care for patients.Providing treatment and services within the scope of their license, certification or registration and as required by law and regulation.Evaluation and clinical diagnosis of patient conditions.Establish treatment goals utilizing input from patient and their family as appropriate.Establish written treatment plans and implement care for each patient in accordance with the stated goals.Delegates responsibility to physical therapist assistants and other support colleagues as appropriate.Our Commitment to Diversity and Inclusion
