Vancouver Coastal Health is looking for a Physical Therapist (Physiotherapist) to join the Arthritis Program in Cranbrook, BC, working as a Clinical Practice Leader. Apply today to join our team!

 

As a Physical Therapist with VCH, you will:

Be responsible for the clinical support of a physical therapy services section and provide physical therapy services to clients at the Cranbrook site of Mary Pack Arthritis to achieve quality client focused care

Coordinate daily physical therapy operations at the Cranbrook site by developing and implementing policies and procedures, under the direction of the Regional Manager, Clinical Programs.

Be responsbile for duties including:

developing and maintaining treatment standards.

planning, evaluating and coordinating education, treatment activities and research according to established policies and procedures.

Assess client’s physical status, functional abilities, needs and goals, establish a physical therapy diagnosis and prognosis, develop and implement an intervention strategy, evaluate the effectiveness of the intervention, and communicate with the client/family and health care team members.

Contribute to the organization and delivery of physical therapy services, and participate in departmental/program quality assurance initiatives, meetings, research, and education.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Physical Therapy or Rehabilitation Sciences, two (2) year’s recent related experience and completion of a Health Care Management Certificate or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.Current full registration with the College of Physical Therapists of BC (CPTBC).Eligible for membership in the Physiotherapy Association of British Columbia (PABC).

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Basic knowledge of evidence-based clinical practice related to designated clinical area.Broad knowledge of physical therapy standardized tests and measures.Broad knowledge of physical therapy theory and practice within a client and family centred model of care.Broad knowledge of research process and methodology.Broad knowledge of other health care disciplines and their role in client care.Demonstrated ability to function as a team member.Demonstrated ability to teach and empower clients to assume control over their health.Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and clients both one-on-one and in groups.Demonstrated ability to work independently and in collaboration with others.Demonstrated ability to provide effective consultation.Demonstrated ability to establish workload priorities in a complex health care environment.Demonstrated ability to recognize when referral to another health care professional is required.Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.Skilled in the use of equipment, and in the techniques appropriate for physical therapy treatment.Basic computer literacy. The hours of work including days off and work area may be subject to change consistent with operational requirements and the provision of the Collective Agreement and applicable statutes.
