**Physical Therapist (P.T.) Inpatient/Acute Care**
**PRN**
_Texas Health Physical Therapy department is looking for top skilled Physical Therapist like you to join the team!_
+ Work location: Texas Health Cleburne 201 Walls Drive Cleburne, TX 76031
+ Work environment: Primarily Inpatient Acute Care
+ Work hours: PRN; Weekdays, On an as needed basis & 1 weekend per month (minimum), prefer 2 weekends per month, Flexible with hours, Schedule varies.
**Position Responsibilities:**
Texas Health Physical Therapists are responsible for using therapeutic treatment techniques appropriate to patient age and desire for treatment. Performing treatment procedures that are within the scope of the professional license Utilizing a variety of treatment techniques to achieve goals, if necessary determining patient response to treatment and evaluates progress.
In addition to the required qualifications, a successful Physical Therapist will
+ determine plan for care, and/or appropriate therapeutic interventions to achieve stated goals
+ demonstrate competence in the performance of age appropriate patient assessment and individualizes care based on age specific needs.
+ motivate non-compliant or unmotivated patients to participate in therapy
+ follows directions of circulating nurse in obtaining equipment, instruments and supplies as requested.
+ maintain patient safety throughout treatment and communicate with physicians and other healthcare personnel as appropriate regarding patient care issues.
+ educate patient and family through instruction, demonstration, and/or appropriate handouts in treatment plan, safety issues, home programs/self management and assistive equipment.
**Therapy Services:**
· Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Cleburne is a 137-bed, full-service hospital that has served Cleburne and the Johnson County area since 1986. Located about 35 miles south of Fort Worth, hospital services include surgery, gastroenterology, orthopedics and ear, nose and throat care. The center has over 80 physicians on its medical staff and has been recognized as a Top Performer for Quality Care in a nationwide performance improvement project, an accredited Chest Pain Center by the Society of Chest Pain Centers and designated a Pathway to Excellence® hospital by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
· This role involves working closely with patients to develop individualized care plans, implement therapeutic interventions, and guide them through their rehabilitation journey in an inpatient setting.
**Here’s What You Need**
· Bachelor's Degree Completion of a Physical Therapy program Required
· PT - Physical Therapist Texas Physical Therapy License Upon Hire Required And
· BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Required.
+ No experience necessary - wiling to train (Prefer acute care level rotation experience)
+ Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
+ Problem- solving ability; Ability to teach others.
+ Time management skills; Good interpersonal and customer service skills, Basic leadership skills.
**What You Will Do**
+ Performs age-appropriate patient assessment and establishes plan of care.
+ Uses therapeutic treatment techniques appropriate to patient age and desire for treatment.
+ Educates patient and family through instruction, demonstration, and/or appropriate handouts in treatment plan, safety issues, homeprograms/self-management and assistive equipment.
+ Documents all aspects of assessment, plan of care, and re-certifications in accordance with departmental, TJC, Medicare, and other applicable regulatory guidelines.
+ Works in partnership with peers, other disciplines, and departmental personnel
+ Focus on Daily Living Skills, Mobility and Cognition of patients.
