Work hours: PRN

 

Department highlights: 

Outpatient General (mostly orthopedic), 1:1 hour long appointments Low acuity Acute Care – Includes ICU Growth is a focus in our goals Patient surveys weigh heavily – patient satisfaction is a Major focus metric Currently 3 Full time PTs, 1 PRN (all experienced) Majority Geriatric Population Close “Community Culture” both with patient populations and in-house employees Culture/personality fit crucial for both us and them

Here’s What You Need

Bachelor's Degree Completion of a Physical Therapy program required
No experience required PT - Physical Therapist Texas Physical Therapy License Upon Hire required And BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required Good verbal and written communication skills in English; Problem solving ability; Ability to teach others; Time management skills; Good interpersonal and customer service skills, Basic leadership skills

 

What You Will Do

Performs age appropriate patient assessment and establishes plan of care Obtains/verifies physician order for therapy and validates for appropriateness
Demonstrates competence in the performance of age appropriate patient assessment and individualizes care based on age specific needs. 
Educates patient and family through instruction, demonstration, and/or appropriate handouts in treatment plan, safety issues, home
Motivates non-compliant or unmotivated patients to participate in therapy 
As required, participates appropriately in departmental safety drills / emergency procedures 
Documents and reports unusual occurrences, on the job injuries, and medical device malfunctioning
