Physical Therapist - Safety Sensitive

Job Summary: Functions as a member of the Rehabilitation team and provides quality care for

patients referred for services by a licensed physician.   

 

Job Duties: Initiates patient care through evidenced-based assessment, and documentation of findings in the patient’s electronic medical record (EMR). Submits accurate treatment charges daily in the EMR. Maintains treatment records, statistical data, and patient schedule for patients referred for treatment. Communicate with Physical Therapist on a regular basis exchanging and discussing information concerning patient.  Alert evaluating PT immediately of any significant change in the patient's condition. Alert evaluating therapist of 10th visit reports and patient discharges. Maintain an average productivity equivalent to the standards established for the particular department. Continuously observe all equipment in the department for hazards to assure patient safety. Displays a positive behavior, promoting effective interpersonal relationships and enhancing the hospital’s image. Maintain professional knowledge, licensing, and skills; promotes understanding of the field of physical therapy.  Performs other duties as assigned by supervision.    

 

Qualifications: 

Education:  Active Physical Therapy Assistant license in for the state of Arkansas.  Training and Experience: successful completion of an accredited college program in physical therapy including clinical experience. Up to date CPR certification Job Knowledge:  demonstrate competence in leadership skills, rehab principals, and procedures.  Possess skills and knowledge necessary to care for patients according to their age specific needs. 

 

Essentials:

Must be able to report to work fit for duty and free of any adverse effects of illegal drugs, medical marijuana, prescription medication, and/or alcohol.  Must be able to effectively communicate both orally and in writing with other individuals.

 

Physical Demands: Job responsibilities require a considerable amount of physical work.  Must

have no restrictions in lifting, bending, reaching, or stooping necessary to transfer patients or

equipment.
