Matrix Providers has a civilian opportunity for a Physical Therapy Assistant to provide full-time care in the Physical/Occupational Therapy Clinic at Naval Branch Medical Clinic Mayport.

Position Details:

Status: Full-time Employee Location: 2104 Massey Street, Naval Branch Medical Clinic Mayport Clinic Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00 am to 5:00 pm Start Date: October 1, 2024 (pending security approval)

Qualification Requirements:

Education: Associate's degree from a CAPTE-accredited college or university. Certification: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross. Experience: At least 1 year of Physical Therapy Assistant experience within the last 2 years. Licensure: Active U.S. state license to practice as a Physical Therapy Assistant.

Job Duties:

Provide a full range of physical therapy assistant services as directed by the supervising Government Physical Therapist. Act as a liaison with nursing, medical staff, and other therapists to solve problems and coordinate services. Serve as an educational resource and provide orientation, guidance, and instruction to new physical therapy assistants and aides. Perform clerical duties such as inventory management, ordering supplies, answering phones, scheduling patients, and maintaining department records. Measure patient’s range of motion, vital signs, and body part measurements to assist in patient evaluations. Monitor and supervise treatments administered by physical therapy aides. Administer treatments under supervision, including range of motion exercises, therapeutic exercise, bed mobility, traction, and various modalities. Document treatment sessions according to professional standards and MTF/department requirements, noting patient responses. Assist with the maintenance and care of department equipment and supplies.
