Sheltering Arms Institute is seeking a Physical Therapy Clinical Leader with expertise in Spinal Cord Injury to join the inpatient team.  The Spinal Cord Injury Physical Therapy Clinical Leader provides quality, comprehensive, patient-centered physical therapy services including patient examination (ages 13+), development and administration of a treatment plan, documentation and communication with team members, and clinical direction and supervision to licensed/non-licensed personnel. Instructs therapy support staff, students, other team members, and patient and/or caregivers. In addition to clinical responsibilities, serves as a mentor, knowledge translator, and program leader heavily involved in program development. This position works solely in specialized care areas that include Spinal Cord Injury and Complex Care.

 

Qualifications and Skills

Previous experience in inpatient rehabilitation preferred At least 3 years’ experience with a specialty population of interest Experience with robotic walking devices preferred

 

Education/Certifications

Graduate of an accredited physical therapy program required Doctoral degree from an accredited physical therapy program and/or a specialty practice certification preferred Virginia licensure to practice or eligibility and application for licensure by the Physical Therapy Board of the Virginia State Board of Health Professions  Board certified clinical specialist strongly preferred Diagnostic specialty certification preferred Healthcare Professionals CPR required
