Job Summary: The Physical Therapy Manager is responsible for the overall management and supervision of activities involving physical therapy staff across Acute, Inpatient Rehab, and Outpatient Therapy departments. He/she works closely with the rehabilitation leadership team to attain the goals and objectives set for the rehabilitation program. The Physical Therapy Manager is responsible for the organization and implementation of medically prescribed physical therapy treatment programs to restore function and prevent disability following disease, injury, or loss of a body part. He/she serves as a role model and resource to the physical therapy staff. All duties and responsibilities are to be carried out with empathy and compassion towards patients and their families as well as co-workers.

Minimum Requirements: BS, MS, or Doctorate in Physical Therapy from a program accredited by The Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE), or equivalent. Licensed or eligible for licensure by the State of North Carolina as a Physical Therapist. Minimum of three years of experience as a practicing Physical Therapist. Two years of supervisory experience is preferred. Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served by Physical Therapy. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patients’ status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient’s requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs, and to provide the care needed.
