The role you’ll contribute:
Responsible for registering new and existing patients into the computer system. Assists staff in maintaining rehab department cleanliness and for managing all aspects of the department's linen supply. Greets patients and applies physical agent modalities as allowed by NC State Law. Assists in HydroTrack preparation and clean-up and performs regularly scheduled cleaning and maintenance. Schedules new and existing patients and also assists in maintaining departmental medical records. Responsible for office management duties for the rehab department in the absence of the Rehab Administrative Assistant. Orders supplies and maintains a steady store of supplies in the Rehab Department.
The value you’ll bring to the team:
Assists and coordinates the immediate off-load of patients arriving via EMS with the primary nurse and/or charge nurse.
Executes verbal order for medications and treatments limited to protocols
Monitors cardiac/telemetry status and vital functions of all patients.
Performs 12 Lead EKG per protocol
Recognize hemodynamic changes and lethal arrhythmias.
Establishes and maintains patency of peripheral intravenous lines.
Administers Medications via P.O., I.M., or I.V per hospital policy including barcode scanning.
(Paramedics with oversight of RN may monitor critical drips including blood administration after initiated by RN)
Assists with preparation of medications and administers as assigned for ACLS and/or PALS events
Proficient in the use and maintenance of emergency equipment.
Transports and monitors patients to CT, MRI, or inpatient units
Applies slings, sling-n-swathe, finger splints, application of dressings,
Documentation in the electronic medical record.
Manages phone calls, notifies physician of all back results, orders diets, etc. Relieves HUC as assigned
The expertise and experiences you will need to succeed:
Minimum Qualifications :
High School Diploma or Equivalent required
Ability to lift, push, pull, lift and assist with patient transfers required
Completion of an on-the-job training program required
CNA experience preferred
