Responsibilities The surgical and procedural co-management service will be responsible for the pre-surgical screening of surgical patients and post op medical management. This individual will be responsible for the coordination of the pre-surgical assessments (aka physician visits in PST), ordering of appropriate diagnostic tests, communication of results to the appropriate stakeholders, as well as co-management of medical problems in selected post op admitted patients. This position works in outpatient and inpatient setting, to minimize medical complications of surgical patients. This position may involve Resident education. Minimum Experience: 2 (two) years of Experience in a Hospitalist setting preferred Required Certification/Registration: NY State Medical License Active and Unrestricted D.E.A. Certificate Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Hospital Medicine and Internal Medicine, Updated ACLS certification required. Updated BLS certification recommended Physical Requirements: Stands, walks, sits intermittently throughout the day. Lifts, pushes, pulls light to heavy weights as required. Working Conditions: In-patient Hospital Service of Orange Regional Medical Center. Position will primarily be light work requiring lifting up to 25 pounds with occasional lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 25 pounds. Occasional bending, twisting, stooping, kneeling and reaching are required.
