The Physician Assistant is responsible for providing quality care to patients while under the supervision of a licensed physician.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
These duties and responsibilities described below represent the general tasks performed on a daily basis; other tasks may be assigned.
Practice medicine within the scope of license, training, and credentialing Practice medicine in accordance with the current standards of care Practice medicine in accordance with the quality criteria adopted by the Medical Staff Bylaws Promote a safety-conscious workplace Evaluate and follow up with patients Complete patient charting and all required paperwork in a timely manner Participate in the development and/or review of office policies and support the Practice Manager in their duties Demonstrate the ability to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individual patient care appropriate to the age of the patients served by demonstrating a strong working knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span Communicate appropriately with the person served, regardless of age Attend required hospital-wide orientations, meetings, and in-services Demonstrate a commitment to flexible work scheduling when necessary to ensure patient careQualifications

Education and Experience
Minimum Required Education: Graduation from an accredited Physician’s Assisting program with successful completion of the National Certifying Examination administered by the National Commission of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
Preferred Education: Not applicable
Experience: 2+ years as a Physician Assistant, is preferred
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Applicant must possess a current, unrestricted license to work as a Physician Assistant in the Commonwealth of Virginia and/or the State of North Carolina, a current DEA certification without restrictions, and a PALS or ACLS certification
