Overview The physician assistant (PA) has comprehensive responsibilities to manage and assist the Orthopedic department in the areas of inpatient surgery, major joint replacement and spine, peri-operative care, surgical preparation, and outpatient evaluations. Responsibilities Performs all initial Orthopaedics evaluations in the clinic and produce comprehensive clinic notes for review by the Attending. Rounds daily in the AM on all major case patients and write notes for Attending review. Manages the Orthopaedic department component of discharge planning. Reviews all laboratories and imaging tests done as inpatient and outpatient as per departmental policy for the Major Case Service. Prepares all pre-surgical packets and chart reviews for upcoming surgery. Assists in surgery for the Orthopaedic Department Qualifications Bachelor's Degree required Master's Degree Preferred.
