Physician Assistant - Critical Care

Crouse Health offers a full range of general and specialty care, inpatient and outpatient services and community health education and outreach programs. Crouse’s Physician Assistant (PA) team develops and implements treatment plans, orders and interprets laboratory and radiologic exams, monitors therapeutic interventions, and provides instruction and counseling to the patient, family and nursing staff under the direction and in collaboration with a supervising physician. Crouse is hiring a full-time Physician Assistant to work Nights - 7pm to 7:30am.

Starting salary: $110,000/year

Responsibilities:

The Critical Care Physician Assistant will be responsible for working in collaboration with Crouse physicians, surgeons, residents and nursing staff to provide safe and reliable patient care in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Duties include but are not limited to: assisting the critical care staff with obtaining comprehensive patient histories and perform physical exams; daily rounding and providing plan of care development and execution in collaboration with the ICU team; order, perform and interpret bedside interventions, diagnostic procedures and laboratory tests; provide instruction and education to meet patient needs; engage in continuous learning and teaching with ICU staff; participate in patient rounds and respond to nursing or acute care calls..

Job requirements:

Currently licensed as a Physician Assistant in New York State. Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required at the time of hire of within two (2) weeks after hire.   Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is required at the time of hire or within three (3) months after hire.   AHA Stroke Certification part A required within one (1) month of employment; part B required within six (6) months of hire date.
