Physician Assistant - Heart Failure

Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) is adding a Physician Assistant - Heart Failure to the group at NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi and North Central Bronx. Jacobi Medical Center is a 457-bed, Level I Trauma Center and North Central Bronx Hospital (NCB) has 213 licensed beds.  To this day, Jacobi and NCB remain respected leaders in emergency medicine, trauma surgery, burn care, pediatrics, primary care, and women’s health.

Opportunity Details:

The services at Jacobi Medical Center (Jacobi) and North Central Bronx (NCB) are an academic practice supported by the Albert Einstein College of Medicine Cardiology Fellows. Interested in working with a growing heart failure team and a desire in establishing a road to recovery for patients in heart failure in an underserved population. Highly impactful rewarding career. Both inpatient and outpatient care. Ability to conduct a comprehensive assessment of a patient with heart failure including taking detailed health histories, identifying triggers/etiology for heart failure, and performing physical examinations and able to assess the spectrum of clinical symptoms from euvolemia to decompensated heart failure, and identify concerns for impending cardiogenic shock. Familiar with diagnostic tests such as ECG (including basic interpretation of an ECG), ischemic evaluations (from stress tests to CCTA/LHC), and some familiarity in reviewing test results. Understanding in the two major forms of heart failure – HFrEF and HFpEF and the specific management of both using guideline directed medical therapy. Full knowledge of medications used in treating heart failure and understand titration of these meds. Educate patients and their families about heart failure and its management. The provider will work closely with the heart failure physician and other cardiologists/healthcare providers and communication and collaboration is vital in implementing treatment plans.
