Physician Assistant / Nurse Practitioner - 1099

Tapestry Brevard is moving to Fletcher and will be located in Fletcher NC in a couple months.

Details:

Contract position that provides outpatient care including psychiatric evaluations, follow-up visits, ordering therapeutic and diagnostic tests, and prescribing medications. The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP) or Physician Assistant is responsible for providing outpatient psychiatric care to adults with the collaboration of a qualified physician. The PNP or PA is responsible for practicing as a Licensed Independent Practitioner within the scope of his or her collaborating physician’s practice, and to the extent allowable by North Carolina Nurse Practitioner and Physician Assistant licensing law.

A successful Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner will be a collaborative partner with the agency / physician and exercise flexibility and adaptability to meet the needs of the practice, providing services for 2 to 4 patients per hour. A person in this position must be strong enough in their skill set to work independently when necessary and in a way that meets the agency’s standards of patient care. This position also requires efficient use of the agency’s electronic medical record (EMR). This position requires specific flexibility to work within a hybrid model of scheduled and unscheduled appointments (walk-ins).


Qualified applicants will hold a master’s degree in Nursing from an accredited School of Nursing and be a graduate of an Approved/Accredited Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Program or Physician Assistant Program with state licensure and prescriptive authority from state. New graduates will be considered, but a NC license or eligibility is required. Previous experience in an outpatient clinic is desirable.

Experience:
Five years of progressive experience in a mental health setting and must possess direct clinical training and work in the areas of alcohol and drug abuse with adolescents. Must possess the appropriate level of licensure or certification. Must possess licensing/accreditation experience.
