The Geisinger Heart & Vascular Institute seeks a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join the Division of Pediatric and Adult Congenital Cardiothoracic Surgery in Danville, Pennsylvania.
Job DutiesThe ideal candidate will:
Manage and assist in operation of the pediatric and adult congenital cardiac surgery inpatient and outpatient serviceCollaborate with the surgeon to schedule, evaluate, diagnose, and treat cardiac surgical patients in the adult cardiac ICU, PICU, and NICUPhone coverage from established patients and familiesSurgical experience preferred but not requiredFor those with interest, involvement in research is offered but not requiredThe candidate will report to the Director of Pediatric and Adult Congenital Cardiac Surgery and work in a team setting with the surgeon and nurse navigatorThe successful Physician Assistant candidate will work under responsibility and supervision of the surgeon and require an ARC-PA (or predecessor organization) certificate, current NCCPA certificate or eligibility, and Pennsylvania State licensure.
The successful Nurse Practitioner candidate will work in collaboration with the surgeon and require an approved Nurse Practitioners degree or eligibility to work with patient populations and location settings associated with this position as well as Pennsylvania State licensure.
