Physician - Family Medicine - Corewell Health Center for Wellness - Benton Harbor, MI

If you are an experienced Family Medicine physician committed to providing outstanding care to patients in our underserved communities, Corewell Health has an immediate opening at our Center for Wellness.

The Center for Wellness is located in the downtown area of Benton Harbor, MI., and provides free to low-cost services to meet the needs of the community. This includes access to health care, and nutritious foods. The center offers medical care, health screenings for blood pressure, blood sugar, cholesterol, care of hypertension, in addition to mental health counseling, workshops and more.

This is a full time position, Monday - Friday, 10:00am - 7:00pm. Call is 1 in 8 weekends.

The average number of daily patient visits is 20, with appointments of 15 minutes, or 30 minutes. Typical primary care visits consisting of acute care, follow-up care, physical exams, new patients, pediatric care, new problem, pap and pelvic exams, procedures, and some video visits.

Epic EHR. Fluency dictation available. 

Essential Functions:Assesses and monitors the medical needs of patients/significant others.Provides quality medical services to patients in a cost effective, appropriate manner and ensures coverage of case load at all times.Provides input into the development of policies and procedures as they relate to medical practice and quality patient care.Provides oversight of Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners and others providing delegated services to patients.Evaluates patients'/significant others'/educational needs and develops and implements appropriate teaching strategies or delegates to appropriate resources.Documents in a manner consistent with regulatory standards.Communicates with other members of the health care team in order to ensure continuity of care and coordination of services. Acts as a patient/family advocate.Participates in ongoing process improvement activities through the development/application of clinical paths, process improvement and other related activities.Actively works with Corewell Health to meet financial and patient satisfaction goals.
