SUMMARY (Basic Purpose of the Job)

A Nephrologist will specialize in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of conditions related to the kidneys. They play a critical role in the care of patients with chronic kidney disease, kidney stones, hypertension, and other related conditions. This position requires strong diagnostic, assessment, and treatment skills as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education:

Experience:

MD/DO Degree, NJ & PA licenses. Board certified/eligible in Nephrology

3+ years of specialty training from an accredited nephrology program

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSDiagnosing, treating and managing patients with kidney diseases and disordersConducting regular assessment of patients with kidney diseases and disorders to determine their treatment progress and recommend modifications to treatment plans when necessaryPrescribing medications and recommending dietary modifications to manage kidney diseases and disordersCreating and maintaining accurate patient medical records, documenting patients' medical histories and the progress of their treatment plansConsulting with other healthcare professionals to coordinate treatment plans, recommend diagnostic tests and procedures, and provide referral services for patientsProviding education and support to patients and their families to help them better understand their kidney diseases or disorders and manage their conditions effectiveCommunicate with other healthcare providers to coordinate quality patient careKeep accurate patient medical records; completing all necessary documentation to allow for timely and efficient billing and claim submittalParticipates in on-call schedule in a responsive and timely manner
