Inova is an established, fiscally strong non-profit health care system that is growing to meet the needs of our diverse and rapidly expanding region in Northern Virginia and the greater Washington DC metropolitan area. The main cancer center is located across the street from Inova’s flagship hospital at its Fairfax Medical Campus (833 beds), which is less than 10 miles outside of Washington, D.C., in Falls Church, VA. This level one trauma center hosts its own residency training programs in Internal Medicine, Surgery, Neurosurgery, Pediatrics, Family Medicine, and Ob/Gyn. About a third of the 3rd and 4th year medical students from the University of Virginia Medical School spend their entire clinical years at the Campus. We also have our own fellowship in medical oncology/hematology. The Inova Health System comprises five hospitals with more than 1,900 licensed beds and 22,000+ employees. This $6 billion health system has been recognized for its success and commitment to quality care, including: the first and only hospital system in the DC area to receive 5 out of 5 stars for quality by CMS; ranked by US News & World report and Becker’s Hospital Review as the best hospital in the DC area and across the Commonwealth of Virginia.
