Speech Language Pathologist is responsible for evaluation and rehabilitation of patients with speech and language disorders, cognitive deficits, dysphagia, and voice disorders in a variety of settings including acute care, inpatient rehab, and outpatient rehab. Patient populations may include neonatal, adult, and geriatrics.
Position Responsibilities:
Supervises Clerical Staff on a daily basis to ensure accuracy and completeness of all operations within the Department. Completes a timely evaluation for each assigned staff on an annual basis or as stipulated. Conducts weekly staff meetings with staff to keep them apprised of any changes on office policy or procedures. Coordinates and organizes department and outside department conferences and meetings as requested. Obtains authorizations, referrals, etc. for consults, visits, simulations, treatment and other procedure prior to visit. Schedules staff accordingly to ensure appropriate coverage for the department at all times. Reviews charts weekly and assures that documentation is up-to-date. Attends weekly management by committee meetings in Radiation Oncology as well as organizes CQI meetings. Takes minutes. Reviews daily office work including appointment schedules for completeness and accuracy. Ensures medical records and authorizations have been received for consultations and follow up appointments. Efficiently schedules appointments, recording them as documented and following practice policy. Accurately addresses all case dashboard items within 2 business days. Ensures that insurance eligibility and authorizations are obtained at least 2 business days in advance of scheduled appointments. Addresses the No Show list on a daily basis and keeps the lists in a file with appropriate documentation. Resolves problems and concerns of all clients with confidence and control in a timely manner. Reviews ChartNet/hpf/Epic daily for reports and other documentation in a timely and efficient manner and requests missing documentation from physicians as needed. Demonstrates knowledge and proper use of systems programs, including, ARIA, hpf, EPIC, ChartNet, and others and is able to train others in the use of these systems. Is able to adapt to changing work assignments and adjusts pace to accept additional responsibilities. Maintains accurate physician time off, on-call and conference schedules. Ensures that Physician Administration receives this information on a monthly basis and is updated as changes occur. Performs final chart review and audit to determine which documentation is missing and notifies the physician of record. Responsible for completing and submitting Audit Tracer to Physician Administration on a monthly basis. Assists staff members with job duties as needed. Performs other departmental specific job responsibilities as needed.Qualifications:
