Founded in 1906, McLeod Health is a locally owned and managed, not for profit organization supported by the strength of more than 900 members on its medical staff and more than 2,900 licensed nurses. McLeod Health is also composed of approximately 15,000 team members and more than 90 physician practices throughout its 18-county service area. With seven hospitals, McLeod Health operates three Health and Fitness Centers, a Sports Medicine and Outpatient Rehabilitation Center, Hospice and Home Health Services. The system currently has 988 licensed beds, including Hospice and Behavioral Health. Maintains a professional image and exhibits excellent customer relations to patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers in accordance with our Service Excellence Standards and Core Values. Adhere to all HIPAA laws and MPA II policies.  Assists the physician, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners in assessing the needs of patients based on data collected through history, observation, physical exam, telephone triage, and analysis of diagnostic data: Performs direct patient care, i.e., patient education, discharge and follow-up instructions.  Formulates the initial database by systematically collecting pertinent information through communication with patient and family, observation, and objective examination.  Orders testing and referral appointments for patients per provider instructions and completes follow-up. Consults with patient on telephone calls either addressing the problem or referring the call to another clinical staff or provider, as appropriate. Calls in and documents prescriptions as ordered by the provider. Calls patients with test results according to established policy and as directed by the provider. Manages in-basket as required by department. Possesses skills and abilities required in a multifaceted environment in addition to those relating to nursing: Attends scheduled in-services. Reads and assimilates materials that provide information on the practice and community services. Maintains professional clinical knowledge, skills, and required certification through annual self-review and by attending the appropriate education programs. Continually works toward self-improvement, takes responsibility for own self-development. Promotes the practice with a positive image. Maintains a good rapport with peers and management. Is enthusiastic and positive about job responsibilities. Provides clinical competency coaching and training to clinical staff Performs other duties as assigned. Job Requirements

Qualifications /Training:

 

Minimum one(1) year experience in a physician’s office or other clinical setting.

 

Licenses/Certifications/Registrations/Education:

Valid, active LPN license through verified through SCLLR and BLS certified
