Essentia Health Duluth Children’s Hospital, a member of Essential Health, is the region’s largest provider of pediatric care. With many outpatient Pediatricians, pediatric subspecialists on staff and the region’s only PICU and NICU, we are able to care for the area’s most critically ill infants and children.
Level II Pediatric Trauma Center20-bed Level III NICU, with 4 Neonatologists and 5 APPs that cover deliveries in house14 bed General Pediatric Unit, 5 bed PICU5 of the NICU and Pediatric rooms are swing rooms that can accommodate either NICU or Pediatric patients13 bed Birthplace with 3 additional Midwifery suitesJoin 5 Pediatric Hospitalists and 3 Pediatric Intensivists in a shared pediatric hospitalist practiceDay/Night shifts and/or 24 hour shifts with equal weekendsNight shifts are in house if needed1500 births/year at labor and delivery with NICU delivery coverageGeneral birthplace rounding on newbornsModerate sedations2 hospitals located on campus:Essentia Health St. Mary’s Medical Center – 344-bed tertiary hospital
