Physician Practice Liaison

Founded in 1906, McLeod Health is a locally owned and managed, not for profit organization supported by the strength of more than 900 members on its medical staff and more than 2,900 licensed nurses. McLeod Health is also composed of approximately 15,000 team members and more than 90 physician practices throughout its 18-county service area. With seven hospitals, McLeod Health operates three Health and Fitness Centers, a Sports Medicine and Outpatient Rehabilitation Center, Hospice and Home Health Services. The system currently has 988 licensed beds, including Hospice and Behavioral Health. The hospitals within McLeod Health include: McLeod Regional Medical Center, McLeod Health Dillon, McLeod Health Loris, McLeod Health Seacoast, McLeod Health Cheraw, McLeod Health Clarendon and McLeod Behavioral Health.  

Essential Job Responsibilities/Expectations

The Physician Liaison will act as a bridge between McLeod Health and healthcare providers in strategically and geographically defined territories. Key responsibilities include:

•    Building Relationships: Develop and maintain strong relationships with physicians, medical staff, and healthcare providers.
•    Communication: Facilitate effective communication between the hospital or healthcare organization and referring physicians.
•    Marketing and Outreach: Develop, coordinate, and implement strategies that result in improved relations and revenue growth in assigned territory. Provide information and education on new and existing McLeod Health programs and services.
•    Education: Inform and educate referring physicians about new services, updates, and changes in hospital policies.
•    Problem-Solving: Address and resolve any concerns or issues that physicians may have with the healthcare organization. Help referring physicians and their staff obtain timely follow-up information on their patients. 
•    Market Analysis: Observe and analyze market trends and the healthcare industry to identify opportunities for growth.
•    Reporting: Track, assess, and report on physician referral patterns and the effectiveness of outreach programs. Willingness to become familiar with reporting in various applications.

Additionally, the liaison is expected to prepare weekly communications about activities/happenings. It is also an expectation they attend Monthly Medical Staff Meetings and after-hours events to aid in relationship-building.

Job Requirements
Licenses/Certifications/Registrations/Education:
•    Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited school
