The Advanced Cardiac Imaging Physician Specialist is a position which includes hands-on, supervised clinical training, research, formal didactics, and multi-imaging conferences. Training will encompass 0.8 FTE, and 0.2 FTE will be for clinical needs for independent ECG reading, outpatient clinics or for filling in for cardiology consult services using point-of-care cardiac ultrasound services. 

Among the key duties of this position are the following:  Works closely with cardiologists, radiologists, and physicists.  Interacts with patients directly and be actively involved with study protocoling, image acquisition, image interpretation and analysis, and reporting.  Performs perform sufficient cases to qualify for Level III accreditation in echocardiography. Opportunities to learn advanced cardiac MRI, CT and nuclear techniques are available. The fellowship is based on the most recent COCATS 4 requirements (with additional specific documents pertaining to cardiac MRI, cardiac CT, echocardiography, nuclear cardiology), expertise in more than one imaging modality likely requires an additional year beyond general cardiology fellowship.  Assessment of patients for cardiovascular imaging procedures, supervision of cardiovascular imaging procedures, and follow-up of patients who have had cardiovascular imaging procedures is a shared responsibility of the fellow and supervising attending physician, with the degree of fellow autonomy increasing as greater experience and confidence is gained.  Participates actively in research projects. Research training will include one-on-one interaction with experienced investigators to learn study design, data organization, data analysis, and abstract/ manuscript writing. Will be expected to submit abstracts for presentation at national meetings and compose manuscripts for publication in refereed journals.  Didactic sessions and research meetings are held at least weekly and include research, technology, and clinical topics.  Conducts conferences and assist in training others.  FLSA Exempt Grade 01S Salary Details Minimum Salary 33235.000 Mid Range Salary 227332.000 Maximum Salary 421428.000 Offer Information The final salary offer may be determined by several factors, including, but not limited to, the candidate’s qualifications, experience, and expertise, and availability of department or grant funds to support the position.
