Posting Summary Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Physician Specialist- III for NJMS- Gastroenterology. The Physician Specialist III is an advanced gastroenterologist, non-ACGME trainee in Medicine and attending physician in the division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology. Will serve as a trainee for advanced endoscopic procedures, including EUS with FNA & FNI, balloon-enteroscopy, ERCP techniques, including intraductal ultrasound, cholangioscopy, hydraulic lithotripsy, endoscopic mucosal resection, cystgastrostomy, and luminal stenting. Besides clinical training, the Physician III is also expected to pursue scholarly activities involving participation in multidisciplinary conferences, research projects related to endoscopic techniques, outcomes, etc. As an instructor and attending in the department of medicine the candidate will serve as the attending physician on the gastroenterology service and perform general endoscopic procedures.
Among the key duties of the following: Provides patient care and consultative services on both the inpatient and outpatient service for Gastroenterology. Supervises the medical management of patients referred for/accepted for advanced endoscopic procedures. Performance of basic endoscopy and colonoscopy and provides supervision to Gastroenterology fellows for the performance of these basic procedures. Supports and participates in the development of research in advanced endoscopy. Teaches and supervises students/residents/fellows in both didactic and bedside settings. Provides weekend and on-call coverage as assigned by the Division Director. Participates in all departmental and divisional conferences and educational activities. Completes Medicare time study or such other documents required for documenting services under the program and for documenting services as outlined in this letter.
