**Responsibilities:**
GENERAL PURPOSE:
Provides liaison support at the professional level between health projects involving units within the University and health offices within the region. Acts as a subject matter expert related to physician support job duties, divisional scheduling guidelines, and clinic management processes. Consistently and regularly identifying areas of improvement and demonstrate and model ICARE values..
**SCHEDULE**
+ 8:00AM - 5:00PM
**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS**
+ Direct Support of Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) Program Director and Other Providers as assigned
+ Serves as main point of contact for patients.
+ Manages provider(s) patient appointment scheduling.
+ Address post visit items such as paperwork including form completion, letter templates and obtaining medical records, etc.
+ Researches hospital medical records for information requested by physicians, insurance companies.
+ Applies provider preferences and protocols in selecting from multiple possibilities to execute and/or delegate follow up actions based on provider’s patient notes.
+ Obtains all necessary outside information from referring hospitals as needed
+ Attends weekly BMT Meetings
Interacts with patients, families, providers, and other offices on the telephone and asses the call to understand needs, prioritize medical concerns, and obtain responses from providers and follow up with patients.
Schedules all necessary imaging, tests, outpatient procedures, and manages and reviews incoming referrals for proper scheduling and distribution.
Attends office staff meetings. Provides clerical assistance, including distributing mail, and creating routine and non-routine mail correspondence to families and outside offices. Also scans documents and prepares routine faxes.
**Other Supportive Tasks**
+ Assists with training of new PSR staff
+ Covers the Pediatric Infusion Center and other patient facing clinics, as needed.
+ Works with Medical Office Supervisor to ensure outpatient clinics are opened and closed appropriately and provides support to outpatient clinics as needed. Works bump and reminder lists effectively, timely, and accurately.
Other duties as assigned by the Medical Office Supervisor and Division Directors in managing continued operations and resolution of issues to maintain effective patient care
**QUALIFICATIONS**
+ High School Diploma required.
+ 2 years of relevant experience required.
+ 1-year leadership experience preferred.
+ Experiences with surgical/appointment scheduling software and electronic medical records preferred.
+ Demonstrated customer service skills required.
+ Medical Terminology preferred.
