Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations._ **Responsibilities:** GENERAL PURPOSE: This job consists of patient coordination of new requests for child mental health services which can encompass up to 100 requests per week. The job involves direct patient/family contact by phone, letter and MyChart and extensive tracking via spreadsheets to ensure all potential patients receive timely communication. Also, direct support of clinicians regarding new patients is required. The position also involves scheduling appointments for new patients accepted into multiple different tracks in our service. The job requires a high level of communication skills, customer service skills, teamwork, and independent critical thinking. **ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS** + Schedules new patient visits; communicates to clinicians regarding newly assigned patients + Prepares for, and participates in, twice weekly Intake Team meetings, as well as individual supervision + Works collaboratively with, and covers for, other Intake Team members + Handles eRecord patient call backs promptly and courteously assisting families in multiple questions they may have. **Performs duties of PSS as required, this may include but not limited to the following:** + Examines the clinical schedule(s) on a continuous basis to identify opportunities for optimizing the time and effort of providers. + Serves as a main point of contact for reaching out to families regarding appointment scheduling and/or cancelations + Serves as a liaison between families and providers when needed + Will help triage with other PSS complex nuances that may arise and provide direction to other PSS. **Additional Professional Responsibilities:** + Continuous performance improvement through reading, attending in-services, and workshops + Documents in eRecord + Participates in Departmental and programmatic diversity presentations and meets annual training expectations on diversity + Demonstrates commitment to the mission of the Department of Psychiatry, UR Medicine and the University by modeling honesty and integrity. + Personally committed to understanding and meeting the unique needs of external and internal customers. + Contributes to the vision and mission of the Child & Adolescent Psychiatry Division + Maintains a thorough knowledge of Department of Psychiatry, UR Medicine: Pediatric Behavioral Health & Wellness policies and procedures. **QUALIFICATIONS** + High School Diploma and 2 years of relevant experience required. + Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience preferred. + Medical Terminology, experiences with appointment scheduling software and electronic medical records preferred.
