Position Purpose
Employee shall provide clinical services to patients who are appropriate for the scope of an Urgent Care physician including but not limited to assessing the conditions of a variety of patients. Physician shall perform a medical exam and take a medical history to recognize more serious conditions and direct the patient to emergency consultation as needed. Physician will be expected to collaborate with and supervise mid-level providers. Physician can expect to have some involvement with telemedicine. A component of the physicians time may be allocated to teaching residents and medical students as appropriate. The physician will help foster the mission, vision and values of Renown Health, and help to foster the quality and risk adjustment strategies of the system.
Nature and Scope
This position provides non-emergent, acute care clinical services to individuals along the pediatric to geriatric spectrum. This position requires competency with common office-based procedures such as laceration repairs, incision and drainage of abscess and basic fracture care. An occupational medicine component exists where care is provided to the post-accident injured worker. The employee will supervise mid-level practitioners within the group. The U.C. Physician is responsible for implementing organizational initiatives and fostering a collaborative environment for patient care among colleagues throughout the organization and within the community.

Education:
Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing and speaking English. Must have a medical degree from an appropriately accredited medical school and accompanying residency training. Must be Board-Eligible or Board-Certified in a medical specialty appropriate for Urgent Care.

Must possess and maintain a current and valid State of Nevada Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic (DO) medicine license. Controlled substance License to Prescribe issued by the State of Nevada and Controlled Substance Registration Certificate issued by the DEA, required.
Certification(s):
Basic Life Support (BLS) or Advanced Certification Life Support (ACLS) required. Prefer American Heart Association (AHA) approved certification, but will accept online certification from American Red Cross Training Services, Advanced MedicalCertification, or ACLS CertificationInstitute. FMCSA Certified Medical Examiner.
Computer / Typing:
Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel and Word and have the ability to use the computer to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc.
