Physics Instructor- Faculty Print (https://www.schooljobs.com/careers/rcbcedu/jobs/newprint/4350200) Apply  Physics Instructor- Faculty Salary $50,980.00 Annually Location Mount Laurel, NJ Job Type Full Time Faculty (37.5 hours) Job Number 01147 Department Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics Opening Date 09/17/2024 + Description + Benefits + Questions Description The Instructor will be responsible for assessing outcomes in one or more courses in the discipline, participating in college committees (including the Middle States), and contributing to the college community by teaching lectures and labs within the physics program, assisting academic administrators with curriculum development, student advising, program enrollment, providing institutional support, and community service. Qualified candidates must be able to prepare and deliver lessons in various college-level Physics courses and disciplines such as Basic Physics, General Physics with Laboratories, Astronomy, and some Engineering. Qualified candidates who meet the position requirements described below are encouraged to complete an application for employment available for the Fall 2024 semester. Specific Duties and Responsibilities Prepare course syllabi, assessments, and rubrics for program development and institutional and student outcomes assessment. + Maintain office and advising hours for students. + Advise students on course selection and career development opportunities. + Promote the college's programs to the community. + Participate in professional development activities to advance instruction and technical skills. + Support the College's mission and strategic plan initiatives. + Develop community/industry contacts and participate in appropriate community service on behalf of the college. + Teach online classes if required. OVERALL PURPOSE AND RESPONSIBILITY: The primary and most important overall responsibility of all employees is to provide service in a pleasant, helpful, and effective manner to our students and other members of the College community. Minimum Qualifications Education Required: A Master's degree in Physics or a related field from an accredited institution. Ph.D. in Physics or a related field preferred. Experience Required: + At least three years of teaching experience in the discipline at the college level. + At least one year of experience in the use of instructional technologies. Preferred: + Physics curriculum design and development. + At least one year of industrial experience involving the applications of Physics. Skills/Abilities /Knowledge /Other Requirements + The ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. + Use of learning-centered teaching methodologies. + Experience in curriculum development. + Evidence of a strong commitment to teach and remain current in the field, including both traditional curricula as well as alternate methods of delivery. + Skills and experience in teaching varied forms of delivery including face-to-face and remote instruction. Familiarity with Blackboard is a plus. + Experience developing and implementing programmatic assessment tools. + Demonstrated commitment to the community college mission of providing instruction to students of diverse abilities, interests, and cultural backgrounds. + Active participation in the College community. Additional Information INSTITUTIONAL EFFECTIVENESS: Collaborates with department members and/or the Compliance, Assessment and Research team to support planning, assessment, data collection and reporting for continuous improvement of the college.
