Job Description

What you're responsible for:

Inspect and sort metal materials, such as aluminium, copper, steel, and alloys, according to established guidelines and specificationsIdentify and remove contaminants, non-recyclable items, and hazardous materials from the metal stream, ensuring the purity and quality of the recyclable metalsSeparate different types of metals into designated bins or areas, following proper sorting procedures and ensuring compliance with recycling standardsFollow all safety protocols and guidelines, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and othersMaintain a clean and organized work area, including sorting stations, bins, and surrounding areas, to facilitate efficient sorting operationsCoordinate and communicate with team members, supervisors, and other departments to ensure smooth operations and resolve any issues or concernsIdentify opportunities for process improvement, efficiency gains, and waste reduction, and provide suggestions to enhance sorting operationsAdhere to environmental regulations and company policies related to the handling, sorting, and disposal of metal materials

Qualifications

To join our team:

Previous experience in a recycling facility or a similar environment is preferredFamiliarity with different types of metals and their distinguishing characteristics is a plusAbility to quickly and accurately identify and sort various metal materials based on visual cues and provided guidelinesPhysical fitness and the ability to perform repetitive tasks, including bending, lifting, and standing for extended periodsAttention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards in metal sortingAbility to follow instructions and work independently with minimal supervision, as well as collaborate in a team environmentStrong work ethic, reliability, and punctualityWillingness to adhere to safety protocols, wear appropriate PPE, and participate in safety training
