Pilates Instructor

Reports to: General Manager
Status: Hourly + Bonus + Commission

Purpose: The purpose of the Pilates Instructor is to provide safe, effective group Pilates instruction in accordance with all Club Pilates guidelines and expectations.

QUALIFICATIONS

450 hour comprehensive Pilates education (Minimum education to include: Mat, Reformer, Chair, Springboard)Up to date CPR training or willingness to obtainDemonstrated anatomical knowledge and focus on safetyPleasant demeanor and excellent customer service skillsExperience teaching 6 or more participants in an apparatus based group classMaintain open availability for a minimum of 6 hours (2 shifts) per weekDemonstrated group reformer instruction abilitiesProfessional and effective communication skillsProven public speaking skillsProven Sales AbilitiesIn depth understanding of the benefits of Pilates and what sets Club Pilates apart from other Pilates studiosWillingness to evolve with new developments in the fitness industry, specifically PilatesComfortable adding TRX, Barre, and Trigger Point modalities to teaching repertoireTeam playerPassion for learning and willingness to attend continued education trainings and seminarsPunctual and ReliableAbility to implement and streamline new procedures in a diverse environmentAbility to recognize areas of improvement and proactively communicate with managementConsistently uses excellent judgmentAbility to work harmoniously with the public, management, and instructorsProfessional and neatTrustworthy and maintains confidentialityStrong problem solverProficient in (or ability to become) ClubReady software for basic use

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide Pilates instruction to include demo classes, group apparatus classes, private and semiprivate training as scheduled by management and pursuant to Club Pilates standardsMust be skilled at proper and safe use of a variety of equipment during each class, including but not limited to, hand weights, EXO Chair, Reformer, Springboard, TRX, Magic Circle, and other equipment as needed to ensure a safe yet creative group experienceVisually inspect the equipment prior to the beginning of class to ensure equipment is in good working order and safe to useResponsible for studio tidiness and returning equipment to standards set by studio managementMust arrive at a set time prior to the beginning of each scheduled class or private/semiprivate sessionParticipate in networking/community/client appreciation events as needed and studio promotions to generate new businessStay up to date with and implement Club Pilates education standards at all timesMaintain honesty and integrityAny other duties as assignedMaintain open availability for a minimum of 15 hours (4 shifts) per weekParticipation in monthly Lead Instructor conference calls and subsequent training of staff in regards to topics covered on these callsManage studio schedule and ensure class types, times, levels, and instructors scheduled are ideal to maximize occupancy and client satisfactionTeach at least 2 demo classes per weekManage sub requests and adjust schedule accordinglyEnsure that all images posted on social media sites reflect proper form and safety standards and are in alignment with Club Pilates standardsRegularly inspect equipment for damage or wear and make recommendations to management about updatesTrack and review the other instructors for proficiency and performance monthlyProvide needed mentorship to instructors to ensure their teaching is up to Club Pilates standardsProvide Private Training Assessments as scheduledPlan and provide quarterly client workshopsPlan and execute quarterly instructor workshops based on client feedback within the studioReach out to local fitness retailers and offer to teach in store to promote the studio
