The role
As a Pilot at Middle Wallop you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. This position offers a unique opportunity for an individual with excellent situational awareness and strong decision-making abilities under pressure to make a significant impact. You’ll be flying a state-of-the-art Babcock Grob 115E Tutor Aircraft on both day and night Helicopter Emergency Medical Services (HEMS) missions, providing urgent medical care and transporting patients in emergency situations. You’ll be part of a highly skilled team where your expertise and quick decision-making will be crucial to our operations.
Day-to-day you’ll be required to:
Complete end of course reports. Actively encourage and maintain a culture of military ethos throughout 6 FTS and embrace the Student Care Directives. Maintain the highest level of safety and quality throughout the 6 FTS operation. Ensure that all communication, documentation, and typed material is of the required standard. Complete Staff Continuation Training requirements
This role is full time and based on site at Middle Wallop near Stockbridge. The successful candidate will be required to reside within 25 nautical miles or 45 minutes of Middle Wallop.

2000 hours minimum total helicopter experience 500 hours operating experience in twin turbine helicopters in an operational environment similar to the intended operation. 20 hours VFR at night as pilot in command. Previous Military flying experience.
Qualifications for the Pilot:
Hold a UK ATPL(H) or CPL(H) with Instrument Rating (IR) Qualified and instrument-rated on both the EC135 and EC145 helicopters CFS B1 QFI/QHI category. Hold a class 1 medical certificate to the satisfaction of the MOD requirements. Minimum of Commercial Pilots Licence, Unrestricted Instructor Rating (with Aerobatics) and valid Instrument Rating (A) SE SP DTTT V2 (Defence train the trainer) Completed a Flying Supervisors Course/Flight Authorisers Course
Security Clearance
