Job Description
This role involves working on the Discovery building for the Engineering building at the UT campus. The job requires expertise in carbon and steel pipefitting, specifically working with chilled water systems and carbon steel piping ranging from 4 to 30 inches in diameter.
ResponsibilitiesPerform carbon and steel pipefitting tasks.Work with chilled water systems and carbon steel piping.Ensure all tasks are completed efficiently and safely.Work outside all day, including on roofs and at heights.Collaborate with the team to pick up slack where needed.Maintain a positive attitude and catch on quickly to new tasks.Essential Skills2-5 years of commercial service pipefitting experience.Comfortable with small spaces, sinks plumbing, and toilet plumbing.Proficient in plumbing, service plumbing, pipe fitting, fabrication, blueprint reading, welding, and industrial piping.Additional Skills & QualificationsAbility to work well under pressure and adapt to changing work environments.Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Why Work Here?

Work Environment
This position involves working outside on commercial construction jobs. The schedule is Monday to Friday from 6am to 3pm, with the possibility of working Saturdays and overtime. Candidates must be comfortable working on roofs and at heights.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Austin, Texas.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $26.00 - $32.00/hr.
