Position Overview

Aecon Construction Solutions Inc. (ACSI) is a multi-disciplined construction company offering superior civil, electrical and mechanical services including piping, insulation, scaffolding, and module fabrication. We’re always on the search for exceptional craft candidates to fill our ever-expanding project portfolios. ACSI is seeking Pipefitter / Steamfitter Apprentice & Journeypersons who will be integral to our projects success, responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of piping systems. This role requires in depth understanding of pipefitting techniques, a strong commitment to safety, and the ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings. The ideal candidate will have rigorous attention to detail, ensuring that systems are install correctly and efficiently. Your expertise will support a range of activities that include understanding flow, pressure and temperature specifications which are critical to the safe operation of piping networks.

 

Key Responsibilities

Install, assemble, and maintain piping systems according to specifications and drawings. Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to determine the layout of piping systems. Measure and cut pipes using various tools to ensure proper fit before installation. Join pipes using welding, soldering, or adhesive techniques ensuring leak-proof connections. Inspect and test piping systems for safety and performance, adjusting as necessary. Collaborate with other trades professionals to ensure timely completion of projects. Follow all safety protocol, policies and procedures to maintain a safe working environment. Journeyperson will mentor apprentices.

 

Requirements and Experience

Valid Provincial Journeyperson Ticket or indentured in a Provincial apprenticeship program. CSTS-20 Certificate Experience as a Pipefitter in an industrial construction environment. Proven ability to work independently and as a part of a team in a fast-paced setting. Ability to lift and work with materials weighing up to 25kg. Ability to work in all weather conditions and environments. Must have a strong understanding of industrial safety procedures and policies.

 

Project: Giant Mine Water Treatment Plant

Location: Yellowknife, NWT

Rate: $33.15 to $47.35 per hour

Schedule: 14/7, 6/1 (locals only)

Camp: Yes

Allowances: Travel allowance based on Province of residence, $60.00 per day LOA.
