**Job Title: Pipefitter**
**Job Description**
The pipefitter will configure, install, fit, and maintain various piping systems, ensuring their smooth operation.
**Responsibilities**
+ Plan, prepare, install, and maintain piping and plumbing systems composed of various materials.
+ Consult blueprints, work orders, schematics, or instructions to create working procedures based on specifications.
+ Gather equipment and materials for the job.
+ Weld, cut, bend, thread, solder, and fit pipes.
+ Attach pipes and piping systems to walls using brackets, bracket systems, or clamps; cut or bore holes prior to project.
+ Install various types of insulation and pipe covering; safely remove and properly discard old coverings according to hazardous waste procedures and in accordance with EPA and OSHA requirements.
+ Inspect pipes, test for pressure and leaks, and report or resolve problems.
+ Coordinate with manager to schedule machinery maintenance, repairs, and installation to minimize disruption to operations.
+ Comply with applicable safety and building codes, regulations, and best practices.
+ Maintain records, including safety logs and inspection details.
+ Perform other related duties as assigned.
**Essential Skills**
+ Ability to read schematics and blueprints.
+ Ability to use a variety of tools, including blowtorches, saws, pipe benders, and welding torches.
+ Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
+ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Successful completion of a four-year apprenticeship that included classroom and on-the-job instruction in pipefitting or a related field.
+ Valid state license.
+ 4+ years of experience on commercial construction projects.
+ Experience reading and interpreting blueprints.
+ Experience welding.

**Work Environment**
Work will be conducted outside on construction sites. Expect to travel to the job site daily in your own vehicle. Job sites will be in San Antonio. Expect to work 40+ hours per week, with flexibility for overtime as needed. Work starts between 7:30 am and 12 pm most days. Mandatory safety orientation is required on the first Monday of employment.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract position based out of San Antonio, Texas.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $31.00
