Shirley Contracting Company, LLC is looking for Pipelayers to join our utility crews.Qualifications:
Minimum of 1 year experience on a utility crewWorking knowledge of shoring and excavationAbility to read cut/grade sheetsWork in outdoor environments in all seasonsBe comfortable working alongside heavy equipment and able to communicate with operators, workers and pedestriansMust pass pre-employment physical/drug screening.Responsibilities:
Installation and repair of waterline, sanitary sewer and storm sewerAbility to align and position pipes to prepare them for joiningAbility to connect pipe pieces and seal jointsInstall and use instruments such as lasers, grade rods, and transit levelsAbility to check slopes for conformance to requirements, using levels or lasersAssist with the covering of pipes with earth or other materialsCut pipes to required lengthsDig trenches to desired or required depths, by hand or using trenching toolsGrade and level trench bases, using tamping machines and hand toolsWork in confined and enclosed spacesWilling to train others in pipe-laying and provide supervisionEnsure the company’s health and safety culture, policies and requirements are metEstablish and maintain a positive working relationship with customers and co-workersEqual Opportunity Employer:
