Pipeline Operator

Reporting to the Team Lead of Pipelines, you will be responsible for all aspects of measurements of incoming and outgoing crude oil at your work stations and the protection of our pipelines and pipelines right-of-ways.

We are looking for a Pipeline Operator to join our team in Cheyenne, Wyoming. You will be dedicated to the safety of people and the environment and ensure that policies and procedures are followed by operations team, contractors and carriers. You will ensure equipment is operated in a safe, efficient manner, according to established safe work practices, policies and guidelines. 


Minimum Requirements:

A High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)

A strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to operate of our pipeline systems and perform equipment maintenance 

Previous experience with mechanical and electrical equipment maintenance

Trade certification, craft apprenticeship program, Associate's Degree (diploma), or equivalent preferred

A valid driver’s license with a driving record acceptable to Suncor

Basic computer skills (Word, Excel) are required

Previous experience reading isometric drawings, line profiles, schematics, OR P&IDs, etc

Knowledge of API measurement standards would be considered an asset

Strong problem solving, decision-making and analytical skills


Responsibilities:

Perform operator rounds (facility/asset inspection) and complete daily meter readings, tank gauging, and sampling

Collaborate with Control Center operators

Become familiar with applicable and relevant industry codes and standards and obtain Operator Qualification (OQ)

Monitor and respond 811 One Call tickets, contacting 3rd parties, locating assets

Ensure all DOT, PHMSA and all Regulatory requirements are met

Address and report hazardous situations, and ensure compliance with our safety and environmental policies and procedures

Assures electronic ticketing is accurate by verifying with monthly meter proves and BS&W reports ensuring monthly closeout is accurate

Monitor and complete SAP PM notifications

Maintain site security, a high-level of tidiness and organization, and monthly Leak Trailer inventory


Location and Key Details:

You will work out of Cheyenne Station, 199 S Morrie Way Cheyenne, Wyoming *Candidates must live within commuting distance or be willing to relocate*

The shift schedule is Monday to Friday, 7am to 3:30pm

On Call required 1 out of 4 weeks

You may be required to perform some heavy lifting as well as use ladders

Working conditions are a variety of different environments both indoor and outdoor (year round) that can include hydrocarbon products, chemicals, noise, tanks, pumps, and pipelines

This role is safety sensitive

Salary and Compensation Details:

$65,000 - $72,000 annual salary and an annual incentive (bonus) program
