Summary: Seeking a Piping Designer II specialized in shipbuilding for long-term contract work, focusing on innovative vessel design and development.

Requirements:

Working knowledge of USCG, ABS, SOLAS, and government shipbuilding standards

Working knowledge of marine systems and shipbuilding industry

Supervisory skills for coordinating and scheduling team activities

Able to train and supervise junior AutoCAD operators

Five years of CAD operating experience preferred (AutoCAD and ShipConstructor preferred)

Responsibilities:

Create innovative and cost-effective vessel designs

Develop functional drawings based on engineer direction and work order instructions

Review applicable specification and regulation requirements

Develop detailed production drawings from functional drawings, specifications, and work orders

Ensure design product interfaces with overall vessel design

Ensure engineering deliverables conform to design and customer specifications

Consult with vendors on project-related activities

Interface actively with other engineering disciplines and production department

Follow all company policies including safety, environmental policy, and quality system principles

Work overtime as required
