Piping Engineer
Our client is seeking a Piping Engineer to work in a major LNG project in Houston, Texas for a 6-month assignment, likely to be extended.
We are seeking a highly experienced Piping Engineer to support our LNG project through the pre-FID phase. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in LNG, EPC, or owner/operator environments with a strong focus on engineering assurance, technical reviews, and operations readiness. This role is critical in ensuring that EPC deliverables are properly reviewed, verified, and aligned with project requirements, while also supporting regulatory filings and assurance reviews from an owner perspective.
Responsibilities: Review engineering deliverables to ensure quality, accuracy, and compliance with project requirements and industry standards. Evaluate assurance findings, develop decision-making frameworks, and provide expert recommendations to mitigate risks. Verify and validate EPC change orders, ensuring that modifications align with project scope and objectives. Conduct multidisciplinary reviews of operations readiness assurance actions to ensure a smooth transition to the operational phase. Provide owner’s review and verification of LNTP4 deliverables (civil, structural, mechanical) to ensure compliance and completeness. Assist with regulatory filings and submissions from the owner’s perspective, including coordination with FREC (regulatory authorities). Conduct thorough reviews of pipeline assurance items to ensure engineering integrity and compliance. Lead multidisciplinary value engineering reviews to identify cost-saving opportunities and optimize project design. Qualifications: Minimum of 10+ years of experience in LNG, EPC, or owner/operator roles, with a focus on engineering assurance, technical reviews, and operations readiness. Engineering degree (bachelor’s or higher) in a relevant discipline (e.g., Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering). Strong experience in interfacing with cross-functional teams, contractors, and stakeholders to drive project success. Proven ability to review and verify EPC deliverables, manage change orders, and perform technical assurance tasks. Experience in supporting regulatory filings and submissions, including familiarity with FREC requirements. Ability to support multidisciplinary teams and conduct value engineering and assurance reviews across various technical areas (civil, structural, mechanical, and pipeline). Strong decision-making, analytical, and communication skills to frame technical findings and provide actionable recommendations. Demonstrated experience in large-scale LNG projects, EPC processes, and operations transition activities.
