Piping Inspection Planner-Scheduler

Responsibilities The Piping Inspection Planner-Scheduler is responsible for coordinating daily activities associated with the Mechanical Integrity Piping (MIP) program for in-service and Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) for new construction piping inspection including repairs and alterations. In addition to planning and scheduling, they are involved in compliance and inspection practices. EASTMAN IS COMMITTED TO YOUR GROWTH: • We will help you prepare for and pass the API 570 In-Service Piping Inspector Certification Exam • We will help you prepare for and pass the AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) Exam. • We will help you prepare for and attain Nondestructive Examination (NDE) certifications: Visual (VT), Liquid Penetrant (PT), Ultrasonic Thickness (UT). JOB RESPONSIBILITIES / ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: • Temporarily relieve or assist Authorized Piping Inspectors and Shop/Field Weld Inspectors during vacations, outages, and emergencies. • Point of contact for miscellaneous piping inspection requests. • Assists Chief Piping Inspector in various Quality Assurance audits and data validation: • Work with area Operations and Maintenance (O&M) organizations to plan and schedule MI Piping inspections in a manner to control costs while using resources effectively and efficiently. • Develop annual and monthly MI Piping inspection schedules, considering regulatory requirements, scheduled outages, and available resources. • Plan individual inspections and all associated activities, such as scaffolding, de-insulation, insulation, aerial lift and crane access, surface preparation, etc. • Responsible for maintaining Piping Inspection SAP Backlog for scheduled work, aligning with Authorized Piping Inspectors on dates and resource needs. • Initiate work requests in SAP to the appropriate groups for inspection activities. • Work with area Maintenance Scheduler to ensure all inspection activities are included in area weekly activity schedules. • Work with area Maintenance Planners to ensure all inspection activities are coordinated and not in conflict with other area activities. • Work with Area Maintenance Planners and Schedulers to establish recurring work notifications for Piping Inspection SAP backlog for inspections requiring support needs (scaffold, insulation, etc.) • Work with NDE Contractor Planners to coordinate on advanced NDE needs (Radiography, Phased Array Ultrasonic, etc.) • Prepare inspection packages and books for Authorized Piping Inspectors for all types of inspection plans (External Visual, Thickness Monitoring, Special Emphasis, Radiography, Expansion Joints, etc. • Ability to learn and become proficient in GE APM Asset Management software. Qualifications • 3+ years of Piping or relative experience in a Chemical or Refinery setting. • Eastman Maintenance craft apprentice graduate or equivalent (SG 13 and above) with piping, mechanical, or metal fabricator experience (fabrication and/or repair of piping preferred) OR Associate’s degree/Trade School Certificate/Military in a related field highly preferred. • Qualifications in welding preferred (experience with specialty materials is desirable) • Must possess a valid driver’s license for driving company vehicles • Willing and able to perform various physical requirements, including but not limited to: working at heights, repetitive lifting, climbing stairs or ladders, working in confined spaces, working in an area with hazardous materials and vapors, and working in environments with extreme heat and/or cold Eastman Chemical Company is an equal opportunity employer.
