Client is looking for Piping Material Engineer
Industry: EPC, Oil & Gas
Location: Eastern Province, Saudi Arabia
Requirements/Qualification: 10-15 years of experience Must be skilled in preparing Piping Line Class and Piping Material Specifications, Material Selection and Pipe Wall Thickness Calculations, Valve Material Specifications, Reviewing Quotations for Piping Components, Providing Piping Technical Clarifications, Managing Piping Specialty Lists and Technical Bid Evaluations, Compiling Piping Line Lists. Additionally, the candidate must have a strong knowledge of industry standards, including ASME B31.3, B31.1, ASME, ASTM, API, and MSS. Experience with Middle East projects Design EPC contractors experience. Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include management, coworker, client, vendors, contractors etc. Responsibilities: Design and develop instrumentation systems for petrochemical projects, including control systems, process measurement, and automation equipment. Select piping materials required, evaluate service life and suitability Review bid tabulations and substitutions for technical acceptability Prepare piping purchase descriptions for valves, pipe, fittings, and flanges, and other special piping components Perform pipe wall thickness calculations (pressure & vacuum), and make preliminary selections Review Piping and Instrumentation Diagram (P&ID) for proper valving and conformance to specification Assist and check in the development of pressure test P&ID as required Assist and check in the identification and selection of special piping components Assign line numbers and line class specifications and update master P&ID and pipeline list Intermediate knowledge of: Stress/strain theories as applied to strength of materials Requirements outlined in the piping flexibility, support element, expansion joint and shock arrest specifications Piping engineering software (Red Bag, MatMan, Auto Pipe, CAESER II, etc.)
