SUMMARY

The Planner will be responsible for integrating the functions of Operations Planning, Purchasing and Production Control to generate the site production plan and develop and execute the production control strategy to meet the business plan. Scope of responsibility includes scheduling shop production, integration of incoming supply from other UTAS Landing Gear locations, incoming supply from external suppliers, managing work order, monitoring and reporting shortages, processing work orders, developing burn down plans, and support forecasting and managing sales latest estimates.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Prepare and participate in the weekly scheduling meeting, by production line or program, based on standard policies and proceduresDevelop and validate daily Operations build and mitigation plan(s) and redirect and / or re-establish priorities, as required, in support of the Master ScheduleRelease and manage Operations work orders to support Operations start dates as well as validating that all parts were allocated correctly to the given work ordersEnsure work orders are corrected in a timely manner each week to minimize aging work ordersEnsure kitting of material supports the daily build plan and process adhered toPrioritize and sequence parts on hold back into Operations production line based on customer priorityParticipate in Gemba walks for other production lines to ensure familiarity in order to support and backfill Production Control needs as requiredFacilitate “Andon” resolution and provide direction for quick response / quick resolution resulting in minimal disruptionFacilitate expedited material of critical part shortages to released work ordersSupport Operations with expedite requests for removal and replacement of defective hardware and complete transactions in SAP, as requiredLiaison between Production Control at other UTAS LS sites and Stockroom / Warehouse to communicate incoming part supply and ensure accuracy of stock transfers Liaison to Shipping to ensure understanding of daily ship schedulesConduct analysis on ability to meet engineering change requests based on capacity and provide recommendation to Master Scheduler who will support the Engineering Change Board ReviewManagement of ramp up / down of approved engineering changes to include gathering and segregating material with Quality, as requiredDetermine feasibility of Customer change request, as requiredInterface with Program Management to stay abreast of Customer priorities and ensure Operations visual boards reflect prioritiesLiaison between Operations Manager, Leads, Quality Supervisor, Procurement and Master Scheduling ManagerCoordinate with Quality for upcoming DCMA and customer inspection requirements and escalate to Management if shipment to support customer need is at risk, as requiredCoordinate with Spares team, weekly, to adjust Spares allocations in SAPDemand Management – coordinate with Configuration Management to ensure identified BOM errors are correctedSAP data cleanup is managed on a weekly basis to include work order alignment to current month and alignment of tail numbers, as applicable, if misalignedConduct On-Time Delivery root cause analysis and corrective action meetings with Operations, Quality, Program Management, and Procurement to support latest sales estimate gap analysisprovide root cause corrective action where metrics do not meet target for OTD, Earned Hours, OD burn down or any other metrics as requiredDemonstrate awareness and understanding of the EHS policy and management system, the importance of conforming to EHS policies and procedures, and consequences of failing to comply with EHS policies and procedures.Act as the ERP focal for site Operations e.g. root cause analysis identifies BOM errorSupport achievement of ACE Gold activities, as requiredExecute all tasks associated with the site macro plan objectives and site business plan, as required Perform other duties as assigned.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s Degree and 2 years of prior relevant experience ORIn absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience is RequiredMinimum 3 years experience in a Manufacturing environment, specifically in Production Control, Scheduling and Inventory ControlAbility to conduct in-depth analysis resulting in development and execution of action plans for improvementStrong organizational and time management skillsDemonstrated proficiency in MS Office applicationsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsDemonstrated organizational skills with a team-orientationSuccessful candidate must meet all requirements under ITAR and CCGP

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

University degree in a related technical disciplineAPICs CertificationPrevious ERP experience (i.e. JD Edwards, Impressa, SAP)
