The below is a position with ASPEQ Heating Group. ASPEQ Heating Group is a marketplace leader in innovative electric heating solutions for residential, commercial, and industrial markets. With a portfolio that includes baseboard, wall, unit and infrared heaters as well as ceiling fans and air circulators, we create simplified heating solutions for our complex work.

 

How you will make an Impact (Job Summary)

SPX is a diverse team of unique individuals who all make an impact.  As the Planner, you will be responsible for planning and scheduling product to meet customer demand within a Made to Order manufacturing environment. This hands-on position will analyze capacity, inventory and draw conclusions on how to maximize customer satisfaction and minimize cost.

 

What you can expect in this role (Job Responsibilities)

While each day brings new opportunities at SPX, your core responsibilities will be:

Planning and Scheduling Create and maintain Finished Good production schedules by managing manufacturing work orders, capacity and sequencing of manufacturing. Create and maintain sub-assembly schedules to ensure component availability for the plant. Review open demand and other related information and communicate with other departments to determine material and labor requirements. Create and maintain KPIs to continuously monitor production progress. Troubleshoot problem situations and adjust schedules as needed to meet customer demands. Materials & Inventory Support Identify material shortages, machinery and labor constraints that may affect production schedules. Evaluate finished goods demand to determine if components and sub-assemblies are built and/or available. Monitor in-plant transfer of materials to meet production standards. Monitor supplier deliveries to meet production schedules. Calculate and secure appropriate material requirements that are required to complete job orders. Manufacturing Support & Continuous Improvement Create and drive improvements in the overall efficiencies and communication to key stakeholders. Work with engineering on any changes to Bill of Materials to ensure all manufacturing work orders reflect recent changes. Work with customer service and sales to expedite hot or past due orders. Thoroughly communicate material shortages to appropriate parties. Monitor production capacity utilization and recommend measures to enhance operational efficiency and minimize bottlenecks. Participate in other projects as assigned that relate to the overall goals of the department.

 

What we are looking for (Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education)

We each bring something to the table, and we are looking for someone who has:

Required Experience

Prior planning experience in a “Made to Order” manufacturing operation. Prior experience managing, organizing and scheduling workflows in a manufacturing environment.

 

Preferred Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Experience with an ERP Systems, particularly in Planning and Scheduling. Syteline/Infor Experience Preferred. Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills Strong experience with Microsoft Office Suite with strong Excel skills Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Continuous improvement mindset, with a proactive approach to identifying and implementing process enhancements. Collaborative mindset, with proven ability to work cross functionally. Strong organizational and communication skills.

 

Education & Certifications

Associates or Bachelor’s degree preferred. APICS Certification preferred.

 

Travel & Working Environment

Office environment with occasional work on the plant/production floor. On-site presence at the manufacturing plant is required. Once acclimated, occasional hybrid work is possible but subject to approval. Minimal travel (<10%) that includes visits to other facilities, vendors and training. Manufacturing Environment require use of foot, eye and ear protection when in production areas.
