Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

Role Purpose

The Production Planner is responsible for coordinating and optimizing the production process to ensure efficient and timely production of goods. This role involves planning production schedules, managing inventory levels, and liaising with various departments to meet customer demand and achieve company objectives

Key Responsibilities

• Production Scheduling: Develop, implement, and maintain production schedules to ensure timely delivery of products. Adjust schedules as needed based on production output, material availability, Skinny MRP capacity, Cable availability.

• Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels of raw materials and finished goods. Ensure that inventory levels are sufficient to meet production demands while minimizing excess stock. SAP Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP Control).

• Coordination: Work closely with the production, procurement, quality control, and logistics teams to ensure smooth operations and address any issues that arise. Ensuring strong communication skills are shown in Core team meetings.

• Data Analysis and Reporting: Collect and analyze production data to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement. Generate reports for management and recommend actions to optimize production processes. Fill sales report with capacity analysis and feed COOIS report by making the proper changes in system as needed.

• Service Metrics Management: Monitor and manage key service metrics such as On-Time to Promise (OTP), Promised Lead Time (PLT), Order Dating (OD), and On- Time Manufacturing (OTM). Develop strategies to improve these metrics and ensure alignment with company goals, fill up reasons of any missed line using SAP, Specifically ZV40N Transaction.

• Continuous Improvement: Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production processes, reduce costs, and improve product quality. (CLIMB initiatives).

• Compliance: Ensure that all production activities comply with relevant safety, quality, and regulatory standards.

Experiences/Education - Required

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.

• Proficiency in production planning software (e.g., ERP systems).

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
