Planner / Analyst
Position: Planner / Analyst Department: SFE – Material Control Reports to: Inventory Manager Location: 4433 South Drive, Houston, TX 77053 (Onsite) JOB SUMMARY We are seeking a proficient and resourceful inventory Planner/Analyst to facilitate the efficient flow of materials and information within the manufacturing process. This person will work closely with the Supply Chain, Production, Sales, and Shipping teams to ensure the required materials and work orders are available for manufacturing requirements. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Work Order Generation: + Create work orders and routings that facilitate the efficient flow of materials between processes. + Create and update BOM’s (bills of materials) as new and/or revised assemblies are released for production. + Schedule and release work orders according to sales demand and shop floor capacity. + Work alongside Assembly Manager and Warehouse Manager to ensure work orders are being issued to the operators prior to job start date. + Complete work orders in ERP timely as completion forms are turned it to maintain accurate stock levels. Inventory / Planning Analysis: + Ability to gather, review, and analyze data to recognize trends, risks, and rewards. + Maintain the production / assembly schedule and update timelines as dates change. + Evaluate total labor load by resource group(s) and ensure all resources are adequately loaded to optimize production output and flow. + Review job completions to confirm manufactured parts are being completed + Perform time study to confirm actual labor hours required in the assembly of top items. + Other duties to be assigned to support SFE Group business success. + Route internal inbound ocean and air shipments with nominated forwarding agent. + Maintain log of all inbound container shipments from Asia. + Update planning spreadsheets with new deliveries. + Other duties as required. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Required: + 2-3 years’ minimum experience in Inventory Management, Production Orders, and Scheduling. + A college degree or equivalent preferred work experience of 3+ years in manufacturing and supply chain. + Ability to work in non-climate control warehouse. + Strong organizational and analytical skills. + General knowledge of manufacturing processes. + Experience using ERP system. + Experience with Microsoft Windows software required. + Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, outside weather conditions, risk of electrical shock, and vibration. Office and travel have moderate noise levels. Machine/Product demonstrations and customer visits can have loud noise levels. Noise levels may be extreme and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is provided. Usage may be driven by customer requirements. Required PPE includes, but is not limited to, steel toe boots, hardhat and safety glasses, hearing protection. Customer site working environments can be extreme in regard to height, confined spaces, ambient temperature, physical requirements and hazards.
