About the role

The Planner and Scheduler will be responsible for the overall planning and scheduling of facility mechanical, electrical and Instrumentation/Control activities and will report directly to the Maintenance Manager.

This position includes long-term and daily planning and scheduling of all maintenance activities on boiler, turbine-generator, material handling and balance of plant equipment. This role will also indirectly supervise mechanics, technicians and contractors performing preventative and corrective maintenance as well as outages and projects. This individual must possess the ability to create an environment that empowers employees to drive system improvements.

Principal Activities & Responsibilities:

Under the direction of the Maintenance Manager the Planner will be responsible for the administration of the work order system including researching, estimating, planning, tracking, recording and maintenance of equipment history.

Ensure the integrity of the work order process from issuance, approval, accurate recording of information, closure, equipment history and archiving.

Verification of parts needed for completion of scheduled work.

Staging of parts for planned and scheduled work.

Develop and revise major and minor outage schedules using P6.

Evaluate and analyze equipment history and predictive maintenance data and trends to assist in anticipation of plant maintenance needs and prioritization and planning of work.

Boiler Reliability Support:

Assist in equipment inspections during scheduled and unscheduled outages.

Prepare outage inspection planning matrix defining inspection scope, schedule, cost and resource requirements.

Preparation of condition assessment reports with executive summary.

Inspection data compilation, analysis and presentation.

Develop and revise standard specifications for outage work scopes.

Position Requirements:

Must have a solid background in power or industrial plant maintenance including a minimum of 3 to 5 years first line supervisory experience and knowledge in planning and coordinating major maintenance/overhaul projects.

Familiarity with computer-based work order/inventory and CMMS systems, NBIC & ASME codes and scheduling tools are required.

Must be able to identify needs for improvement and implement change, knowledge of maintenance budgeting and methodologies, ability to manage spare parts inventory to optimum levels, along with good computer skills.

Physical Demands:

Regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, reach, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, telephone, and keyboard.

Occasionally the Position requires working near and around operating mechanical parts and mobile equipment and is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and vibrations.

Occasionally ascends or descends ladders, stairs, elevated walkways, ramps, and the like, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms.
