GENERAL FUNCTIONS
The Production Planner Buyer drives new product introductions within the optical supply chain. Interacts with internal partners including marketing, engineering and manufacturing to understand material and demand requirements.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for planning and procuring material requirements for various eyewear categories Manage suppliers to meet completion dates according to sales forecasts or customer orders Drive optimal inventory levels while maximizing production plan feasibility Review and process MRP suggestions Create purchase orders to support MRP Work with NPI planning and Engineers on new releases to ensure material coverage of launch dates Expedite supplier orders that delay schedules and alter schedules to meet unforeseen conditions Develop partnership with local and overseas suppliers to ensure the best value, highest quality and timely delivery for optimal inventory levels in support of production plans Prepare procurement reports Take active part on lean activities with suppliers when apply (Consignment Inventory, Kanban Inventory) Performs other duties and responsibilities as neededBASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s Degree, Para-Professional experience or equivalent - Required 2+ years of experience in Production purchasing and/or planning MRP experience in a manufacturing environment Ability to work both independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision. Strong communication skills Excellent ability to multi-task and prioritize Experience with SAP MM, PP and BW Effective skills in financial, market, and supplier analysis Factual and data driven decision maker Strong written and oral communication skills Advanced Skills with MS Excel, MS Access and basic MS desktop applicationsPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Master’s Degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering or related field APICS CPIM and/or CPM certification Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma experiencePay Range: [[$62,016.43]] - [[$87,386.20]]
Employee pay is determined by multiple factors, including geography, experience, qualifications, skills and local minimum wage requirements.
