The Planner II is responsible for owning a business segment, Aerospace or Specialty, within the Planning Team by driving alignment with Sales, Operations, and Supply Chain teams to ensure accurate scheduling and delivery of incoming sales orders through effective communication of production status. This role focuses on maintaining and improving metrics such as, but not limited to, on-time delivery, inventory days on hand, working capital, and production efficiency.Marmon Aerospace & Defense proudly supports the defense industry for Land, Sea, Air and Space applications by offering a full range of connectivity products and services, including custom wire and cable, coil cords, cable assemblies, tools, testing and training and installation services. This is an onsite position in our Manchester, NH location.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reviewing sales order backlog and scheduling respective multi-step work orders to the production floorReleasing, tracking, and updating work orders and run sheetsWork with quality and operations on NCMRs (Non-Conforming Materials) and drive process improvementAdapting and adjusting the schedule according to unexpected production changesIdentify, evaluate, and address the root cause of bottlenecks in productionSupport on-time delivery and inventory goalsAttend cross-over, non-conforming materials, sales & operations, and any other meetings deemed necessary by managerOwn respective business segment planning meetingWalk the manufacturing floor as necessaryResponsible for working with operations to develop an achievable monthly shipment forecastCoordinate with Planner I on any requirements needed to keep respective segment production flowingAssist Planner I with releasing subcomponent work orders to the production floorExtract, analyze, and present production data associated with respective segmentSupport respective business segment production capacity planning Any other duties deemed necessary by the ManagerQUALIFICATIONS:
This role requires a high level of attention to detail and work ethicKnowledge of production processes and quality controlMath and analytical skillsStrong verbal and written communication skillsStrong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well within a team and independentlyStrong Organizational, attention to detail, and time management skills while being deadline-drivenHigh proficiency in Excel, Microsoft Suite, MRP/ERP systems; Microsoft Access is preferredEDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
At least five years of related manufacturing experienceBachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, or related discipline preferredKnowledge of ERP systems, including inventory control, bills of materials, and routing functionsFamiliar with LEAN and 5S principlesPHYSICAL DEMANDS
