Job Description

Reporting to the Underground Maintenance Superintendent, this position will be accountable for efficient planning, scheduling, and proactive parts acquisition for all Heavy Mobile plant and Ancillary equipment maintained by the Underground Maintenance Department. Responsible for developing, managing and controlling all aspects of planning short and long term.

The Maintenance Planner will work closely with the maintenance team, operations, and other stakeholders to ensure that resources, materials, and schedules align with organizational goals. The role requires experience in Pronto (CMMS) for maintenance scheduling, tracking, and reporting.

Developing and maintaining a safe working environment through compliance with the company’s Health & Safety ProgramComplying with the Maintenance Planner/Scheduler’s roles and responsibilities: Backlog management, Planning, Scheduling, and Breakdown or Urgent work processes.Backlog management, including weekly and monthly reviews, purging of aged work ordersMaintain backlogs to effectively manage maintenance work tasks and schedulesScoping jobs as necessary to include:  All necessary job steps, required tooling, drawings and diagrams, parts, resources, and safety elements to be addressedDetermining the required parts on each work order in the backlog; verifying parts are available and ordering parts as necessaryOrganise and maintain all statutory compliance related work with contractors and internal departmentsIdentify and implement systems and process improvementsAnalyse maintenance data to ensure data integrity and continuous improvementManage and oversee the development of accurate and timely forecast plans to ensure the maintenance     activities align with mining production plansAttend weekly pre planning meeting with operationsCoordinating with supply chain to generate material purchase orders and agreed delivery datesDetermining the need for special support equipment and order/schedule as necessaryMaintaining and updating work ordersUtilising and review of Condition Based Monitoring (CBM) Reliability data and monitor tasks Implementing Demonstrated Best Planning PracticesPronto Power UserPlanning and coordinating equipment commissions/decommissionsReview completed PMs and update tasks where requiredTracking and reporting of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):  Workorder CompletionSchedule versus ComplianceUnscheduled % (Breakdown) PM Completion(MTBF) Mean time between Failure and (MTTR) Mean time to repairEquipment availabilityMaintenance registers – update and maintainPromoting best practice and continuous improvementConducting task observations as per the gold standards.

QualificationsRelevant qualifications in engineering, maintenance, or a related field.Experience with Pronto Xi (CMMS) is highly desirable.                                     Job requirements include demonstrated strengths in organizational, planning and resourcing skillsSound level of computer literacy skills in Microsoft Office functions particularly Excel, Outlook and Word are necessary with the ability to present plan and reports in different formatsTraining will be provided on the CMMS (Pronto) as needed.  Previous experience as a scheduler is a significant asset.Strong knowledge of heavy mobile equipment and fixed plantLeadership or Supervisory experience highly regarded
